Job summary

Capital One is seeking a Sr. Manager, Cyber Security to lead risk governance and capability maturation across complex programs. You will mentor teams, advise on best practices, and drive continuous improvement in cybersecurity controls, threat intelligence, and tooling usage.

You will collaborate with leadership and multiple cyber programs to align control design, testing, and reporting with regulatory expectations while guiding resource allocation and strategic initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required with 7+ years in cybersecurity or IT.
• Experience evaluating or supporting development of cybersecurity capabilities.
• Strong governance, risk and threat management capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor and develop associates with clear expectations and feedback.
• Advise on risk reduction through cybersecurity tools and platforms.
• Develop and standardize capability, risk and threat classification frameworks.
• Drive continuous improvement programs including action tracking and validation.
• Coordinate cross-program risk reduction initiatives and resource allocation.
• Lead enterprise risk reduction efforts and communicate gaps and remediation paths.
• Present findings to leadership and ensure alignment with controls and regulator expectations.
• Coordinate risk assessments and ensure alignment with business objectives.
