Job summary

Capital Bank is seeking a Lead Information Security Engineer to provide senior technical leadership across the bank’s security program. You will design, implement, and continuously improve security controls, lead incident response, and advise IT leadership and stakeholders to ensure security-by-design across infrastructure and applications.

The role emphasizes AI-driven threat management, cloud adoption, and regulatory readiness, with 100% remote work and a focus on secure, compliant operations

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in information security or a related role
• Experience in AI within security contexts
• CompTIA Security+ or similar certification
• Experience in security monitoring, vulnerability management, and responding to security events
• Knowledge of LAN/WAN, firewalls, IDS, encryption and VPN technologies
• Ability to guide all levels of the organization on security awareness and practices

Responsibilities

• Lead vulnerabilities identification and remediation in systems, apps, and networks
• Lead IAM procedures for secure identity and access management
• Lead security event monitoring and incident response activities
• Monitor network traffic and security logs; use XDR to detect threats
• Manage security projects with governance and policy adherence
• Deliver investigations and responses to security incidents
• Collaborate with business units to integrate security controls
• Develop and deliver employee security awareness training
• Participate in IT/IS audits and regulatory assessments
• Stay updated on threats and evolving security best practices
• Develop DR/BC and incident response solutions
• Perform other security-related duties as assigned
