Job summary

Capital Bank, N.A. seeks a Lead Information Security Engineer to provide senior technical leadership, shaping security controls across infrastructure and applications. You will guide incident response and align security with AI-driven threats, cloud adoption, and regulatory expectations.

You will design, implement, and continuously improve security programs, partnering with IT leadership and business stakeholders to maintain audit readiness and secure operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
• Minimum 5 years in information security, preferably in regulated financial institutions.
• Experience in AI in security and relevant certification (e.g., CompTIA Security+).
• Experience in security monitoring, vulnerability management, and incident response.
• Knowledge of LAN/WAN technologies, firewalls, IDS/IPS, encryption, VPNs, and security tools.
• Familiarity with PCI-DSS and other compliance frameworks.
• Ability to guide all levels of the organization on security.
• Ability to work independently and in teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead vulnerability assessments across systems, applications, and networks.
• Develop and maintain IAM procedures for secure access management.
• Monitor security events; analyze trends to improve security posture.
• Oversee network and log monitoring using centralized XDR to detect threats.
• Coordinate security projects ensuring policy and standards compliance.
• Lead investigations and responses to security incidents and outages.
• Collaborate with business units to integrate security controls.
• Deliver security awareness training for employees.
