Job summary

Alvarez & Marsal (A&M) is seeking a Senior Associate in Global Cyber Risk Services to lead cyber risk advisory engagements across industries. You will assess maturity, evaluate regulatory readiness, and develop pragmatic roadmaps that boards can act on.

You will guide engagements from planning through delivery, coordinating with CISOs, risk, legal, and business leaders to translate complex security issues into actionable recommendations and high-quality deliverables.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required with approximately 4–7 years of relevant cyber risk advisory, cybersecurity consulting, governance, risk and compliance, or information security experience.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, especially PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact with stakeholders from technical staff to Board members.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute cybersecurity program assessments against frameworks (NIST CSF 2.0, ISO/IEC 27001, NIST SP 800-53, CIS Controls) and develop future-state roadmaps.
• Lead stakeholder interviews/workshops with CISOs and executives to understand control environments and document findings.
• Support regulatory compliance and remediation efforts (NYDFS Part 500, HIPAA, GLBA, PCI DSS) and policy development.
• Develop security and privacy policies, standards, and governance models; manage risk management processes.
• Support cyber risk quantification and risk-based prioritization of security investments.
• Develop incident response plans, playbooks, and tabletop exercises; manage response activities.
• Perform third-party and vendor cyber risk assessments; assess cloud configurations.
• Assess AI-related risk including governance, model/data security, and third-party AI exposure.
• Support cybersecurity due diligence for buy-side, sell-side, and carve-out engagements.
