Job summary

Rio Tinto seeks an experienced Senior Advisor – Cyber & Enterprise Architecture to lead cybersecurity architecture across major U.S. Borax tech initiatives.

You’ll guide secure-by-design solutions and oversee vendors and MSSPs, shaping a resilient, scalable technology environment in a hybrid remote/on-site role with Boron observations. You will drive security reviews, architectural roadmaps, and risk-based decisions while collaborating with business stakeholders and technology partners to

Qualifications

• This role requires deep cybersecurity and architecture expertise across complex tech environments.
• Strong foundations in networking, infrastructure and cyber security are essential.
• Experience designing or governing secure architecture across large programmes.
• Familiarity with incident response and MSSP operating models is preferred.
• Experience with third-party vendors, MSPs and technology partners is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead cybersecurity architecture and advisory activities across business and technology initiatives.
• Provide specialist guidance on cybersecurity, infrastructure, networks, applications and OT environments.
• Lead security architecture reviews for critical business and OT solutions.
• Ensure secure-by-design and zero-trust principles are embedded in technology solutions.
• Assess technical risks and develop practical mitigation with risk owners and project teams.
• Oversee MSSPs and ensure effective service delivery and accountability.
• Engage with external vendors and challenge proposed solutions, ensuring outcomes.
• Lead and facilitate technical design and architecture reviews.
• Develop and maintain architecture roadmaps for solutions and platforms.
• Advise on technology selection, integration, security, and future-state architecture.
• Support transformation initiatives including ERP, infra migrations and carve-outs.
• Refine and optimize existing environments while driving future-state ideas.
• Translate technical risks into clear business terms for stakeholders.
• Support technology investment decisions with architecture and cybersecurity expertise.
• Drive continuous improvement across cybersecurity, architecture and processes.
