Job summary

OnTrac is seeking a Senior Manager of IT & Cyber Security to lead the SOC/CSIRT and mature the organization’s cyber defense capabilities. This remote role requires strategic and hands-on leadership to ensure 24x7 coverage, incident response, and threat detection across the security operations program.

The role emphasizes automation, AI-enabled security operations, and collaboration with IT, Legal, and executive teams to drive security metrics, dashboards, and program maturity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Security, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• Master’s degree preferred but not required.
• 10+ years of progressive cybersecurity experience.
• 5+ years of leadership experience managing Security Operations, Incident Response, Cyber Defense, or SOC teams.
• Experience building and maturing SOC capabilities, incident response programs, and detection engineering functions.
• Experience developing cybersecurity operational metrics, executive reporting, and performance dashboards.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily SOC/ARC monitoring, alert triage, investigations, and incident response; manage analysts and incident handlers across tiers.
• Develop workforce plans and coverage models to support security operations requirements.
• Build and mature incident response procedures, playbooks, and runbooks; lead end-to-end cyber incident response.
• Coordinate high‑severity incident response with IT, Legal, PR, and executive leadership; run tabletop exercises.
• Develop detection engineering and threat hunting programs; tune SIEM/EDR/SOAR to reduce false positives.
• Establish and report KPIs/KRIs; create executive dashboards communicating threat trends and program maturity.
• Oversee budget, vendors, and service performance; manage 24x7 staffing models and MSSPs.
