Job summary

OnTrac is seeking a Senior Manager of IT & Cyber Security to lead the SOC, incident response, and security operations across the organization. This remote role allows work from states where OnTrac is authorized, with base pay ranges from $156,000 to $195,000 and potential to $234,000 over tenure, plus up to 20% bonus target.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Security, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 10+ years of progressive cybersecurity experience.
• 5+ years of leadership experience managing Security Operations, Incident Response, or SOC teams.
• Demonstrated experience building and maturing SOC capabilities, incident response programs, and detection engineering functions.
• Experience developing cybersecurity operational metrics, executive reporting, and performance dashboards (MTTD, MTTR, KPIs, KRIs).
• Proven success implementing SIEM, EDR, SOAR, and automated or AI-assisted response capabilities.
• Experience managing 24x7 staffing models, budgets, and third-party security vendors or MSSPs.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily SOC monitoring, alert triage, investigations, and incident response.
• Manage analysts, shift leads, and incident handlers; define Tier 1/2/3 roles and escalation criteria.
• Develop staffing plans that support current and future security operations requirements.
• Build and mature incident response procedures, runbooks, and playbooks; coordinate responses.
• Coordinate high-severity incident response across IT, Legal, Communications/PR, and executives; run tabletop exercises.
• Develop detection engineering and threat hunting programs; tune SIEM/EDR/SOAR to improve efficacy.
• Establish and report SOC KPIs and KRIs; build executive dashboards to communicate trends.
• Oversee budgets, vendors, and service performance; manage security tooling and partners.
• Foster security culture; recruit, coach, and develop security operations personnel.
