Job summary

Peak Performers in Austin, TX is seeking an onsite Sr. Security Operations Analyst to monitor and respond to security events across on-premises, cloud, and endpoints.

You will analyze threats, triage incidents, and develop detections and playbooks to improve security visibility. The role requires seven years of cybersecurity/ops experience, hands-on with Microsoft Sentinel, SIEM, NDR, and EDR, plus knowledge of NIST/CIS/HIPAA frameworks.

Qualifications

• Minimum of seven years of experience in cybersecurity, security operations, or related role.
• Experience using Microsoft Sentinel for incident management and analytics.
• Experience with SIEM log analysis, alert investigations, and dashboards.
• Experience with NDR for network traffic analysis.
• Experience with EDR tools for endpoint triage and hunting.
• Knowledge of security frameworks such as NIST, CIS Controls, HIPAA.

Responsibilities

• Monitor alerts, logs, and threat intel across on-prem, cloud, and endpoints.
• Analyze suspicious activity and determine scope and response actions.
• Perform incident triage, investigation, escalation, and containment coordination.
• Develop rules, dashboards, alerts, and playbooks to improve visibility.
• Support threat hunting using KQL, packet/session analysis, and telemetry.
• Assist with vulnerability, risk, and control assessments.
• Document findings and communicate with security leadership and stakeholders.
• Collaborate with teams to validate events and mitigate risk.
• Maintain awareness of emerging threats in healthcare and public sector environments.
• Support compliance, audits with evidence and metrics.
