Job summary

Savannah River National Laboratory is seeking a seasoned cybersecurity professional to lead cyber-analytic activities and evaluate information security systems. You will identify, investigate, and analyze cyber events, applying a methodical approach to diagnosis and remediation.

Responsibilities include mentoring staff, partnering across functions, and advancing security architectures, encryption standards, and network protections.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and 7–9 years of professional cybersecurity experience.
• At least 1 general cybersecurity certification (e.g., CISSP or Security+) AND 1 technical certification (e.g., GCIH, CEH, Splunk/Tenable).
• Understanding of security architectures, encryption standards, firewalls, IDS/IPS, and network security protocols.
• Hands-on experience applying and enforcing STIGs/SRGs; proficiency with enterprise cybersecurity tools.

Responsibilities

• Provide cyber-technical expertise through cyber analytical activities and security evaluations.
• Diagnose issues using systematic approaches and collaborate with other functions.
• Mentor or train subordinates and seek cross-functional project support.
• Contribute to improvements in the cybersecurity function and team goals.
• Understand how the team’s work supports department objectives and applies sound judgment.
