Job summary

Savannah River National Laboratory (SRNL) seeks highly skilled cybersecurity professionals to lead and advance cyber engineering efforts to protect national security and DOE missions. You will apply systematic analysis, coordinate with related functions, and drive improvements across security architectures and tools such as Splunk and ACAS.

Candidates should have 7–9 years of direct cyber experience, a strong foundation in STIG/SRG enforcement, and the ability to obtain a DOE clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and 7–9 years of direct cybersecurity experience.
• Must hold at least 1 general cybersecurity certification (e.g., CISSP, Security+) AND 1 technical certification (e.g., GCIH, CEH, Splunk/Tenable certified).
• Deep understanding of security architectures, encryption standards, firewalls, IDS/IPS, and network security protocols.
• Hands-on experience applying and enforcing STIGs and SRGs.
• Proficiency with enterprise cyber tools for vulnerability assessments, SIEM (Splunk), endpoint protection, and security frameworks.
• Required ability to obtain and maintain a DOE security clearance; U.S. Citizenship.

Responsibilities

• Provide cyber-technical expertise through cyber analytical activities and evaluation of security systems.
• Diagnose issues using a systematic approach and mentor subordinates as needed.
• Maintain partnerships with other functions and communicate persuasively.
• Ensure team contributions align with department goals and deliver results.
• Understand discipline deeply and collaborate across adjacent IT/engineering areas.
• Initiate improvements for the function and leverage past experience to draw conclusions.
