Job summary

CHAOS Industries is seeking a Customs Compliance Manager to lead customs compliance for transactions as it scales production and delivery of dual-use products to U.S. Government, allied, and commercial customers.

You will determine HTS and Schedule B classifications, valuations, and country of origin; oversee brokers and entry/clearance activity; manage duty exposure; and maintain records. This is a hands-on role for an experienced customs professional with knowledge of ITAR and EAR controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with at least 7 years in customs compliance for imports/exports, preferably in aerospace/defense.
• Working knowledge of U.S. customs laws and the Foreign Trade Regulations.
• Hands-on HTS and Schedule B classification and valuation experience.
• Experience overseeing customs brokers and ensuring accurate entries/exports.

Responsibilities

• Determine and document HTS and Schedule B classification, customs valuation, and country of origin for parts, materials, and equipment.
• Oversee customs brokers and forwarders, ensuring shipments clear without delay.
• Review import entries and export declarations for accuracy before/after filing (EEI/AES).
• Manage temporary exports, demonstrations, repairs, and returns in both directions.
