VAST Data is seeking a Customer Support Engineer to join our growing team in Houston, TX. You will be part of the Flight Crew, handling post-sales support for enterprise storage solutions and AI workflows at customer sites and in the lab.

The role emphasizes hands-on troubleshooting, on-site field services, and collaboration with pre-sales, Professional Services and engineering. You will build trusted customer relationships, respond quickly to issues, and contribute to product improvements.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in customer-facing roles with storage solutions.
• Proficient in Linux system administration and networking.
• Bash scripting and another programming language.
• Willingness to travel ~20% and occasional weekend shifts.

Responsibilities

• Build trusted relationships with customers and understand their needs.
• Respond to technical support issues and escalate when needed.
• Handle daily operations and drive issues to resolution.
• Perform field services: installations, upgrades, break-fix, expansions.
• Submit and manage feature requests and bugs with teams.
• Advocate for account priorities and track escalations.
• Identify improvements to ensure product adoption.
• Support account teams on technical status and activities.
• Manage workload to meet KPIs and SLAs.
