Job summary

VAST Data is seeking a Customer Support Engineer to join a fast-growing, AI‑driven data infrastructure company. You will be the technical expert for post‑sales activities, handling reactive and proactive support, and collaborating with engineering and services to resolve issues.

Expect hands-on troubleshooting, field work, and opportunities to influence product direction. You will work with customers around the globe, supporting file protocols, machine learning data workflows, and scale‑out

Qualifications

5+ years in customer-facing roles with storage and enterprise IT infrastructure
Strong Linux system administration knowledge and troubleshooting skills
Experience with file systems, NAS, and high-performance computing concepts
Proven ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to customers
Willingness to travel ~20% and participate in rotational weekend coverage

Responsibilities

Respond to customer issues with hands-on troubleshooting and escalation when needed
Collaborate with engineering, professional services, and pre-sales to resolve complex problems
Perform and support on-site field services including installs and upgrades
Capture and track feature requests and bug reports for product teams
Help customers achieve full adoption and optimal usage of VAST products
