Schedule: Hybrid, Monday through Thursday in office and Friday remote
Employment Type: Full-Time
Compensation:
- Base salary plus on-target earning potential of $85,000 to $115,000 per year
- Uncapped commission, paid monthly, at a rate that increases as your book grows

About the job
As an Experienced Customer Sales Representative, you will be responsible for generating, prospecting, soliciting and closing new shipper accounts across LoadDelivered’s full range of services, including truckload, LTL, flatbed and heavy haul, and temperature-controlled freight, alongside the air, ocean, warehousing and customs clearance capabilities available through Logistics Plus. You will be in daily contact with prospective customers with gross sales from $200 million to $5 billion, building relationships, solving problems and assessing their needs. This position is responsible for promoting and selling LoadDelivered’s services in pursuit of established production objectives.
This position is based in our Chicago office at 640 N LaSalle. Mondays through Thursdays are in office and Fridays are remote, every week.
What sets this role apart
- Our team is small enough that prospect availability is limitless. You will not be handed a territory or told which names belong to someone else, and with thousands of companies in our CRM, where you choose to focus is largely your decision.
- Accounts stay with the representative who builds them. You will not be waiting for business to be released to you, and nothing you develop will be reassigned once it is yours. Enterprise opportunities are not held back for a separate national accounts team.
- Operations support will be supplied once production merits resources. This allows you to stay focused on selling and growing.
- Commission begins with your first load. There is no minimum to clear before the plan starts paying during your first year.
- The commission plan is progressive rather than flat. Your rate increases as your margin and volume grow, and there is no ceiling on what you can earn.
- You will work directly with the people who run this business. Decisions are made close to you rather than several layers away.
- Selling the Logistics Plus suite alongside truckload means you can take on a shipper’s entire network rather than competing for a single lane of it, which tends to mean larger accounts that stay longer.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute a hunter-style prospecting strategy using phone outreach, online research, referral channels, industry relationships and trade show presence
- Represent and sell LoadDelivered’s core suite of services, along with the broader Logistics Plus network
- Inside sales: drive initial prospect engagement through phone and email outreach to uncover customer needs and qualify opportunities
- Outside sales: lead face-to-face meetings, present proposals and solutions, and close business in person
- Independently identify and generate new sales opportunities rather than waiting for accounts to be assigned
- Collaborate with pricing and operations on rate strategy and account implementation plans
- Establish credit terms with customers in coordination with company policy
- Maintain accurate funnel information on all prospective customers in the required format
- Lead quarterly business reviews and support accounts after the sale
- Review weekly and monthly sales activity and prospective customers with your manager
- Engage in self-development and training opportunities, both internal and external
Qualifications
- Two or more years of shipper-facing sales experience at a freight brokerage or third party logistics provider. Carrier sales experience on its own will not qualify you for this role.
- A track record you can speak to with numbers, including gross profit, revenue, margin, load volume and accounts landed
- Demonstrated ability to prospect, negotiate, close and retain customers
- Willingness and demonstrated ability to sell both inside, by phone and email, and outside, in face-to-face meetings and closings
- Ability to communicate effectively across all levels of a customer’s organization, including C-level
- Strong written and verbal communication, and comfort working in a performance-driven sales environment
- Medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance
- 401(k) with company match
- Paid time off and paid holidays
- Remote every Friday
- On-site fitness center and discounted Chicago Athletic Clubs membership
