Job summary

Amphenol Communications Solutions (ACS) in the United States seeks a Customer Engineer to interface with customers, support design wins, and collaborate with engineering, marketing and sales teams.

The role requires a bachelor's in mechanical engineering, 2+ years in the connector industry, and proficiency with Creo and Windchill, plus strong communication skills. Some travel is expected as part of customer engagement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related technical field.
• Minimum of 2 years proven experience providing technical support to produce design wins within the connector industry.
• Proficient in 3D modelling and Product Data Management (e.g., Creo and Windchill).
• Some knowledge of server/storage/networking/data centre rack level architectures preferred.
• Some experience with industry specifications (UL, EIA, IEC, Telcordia, etc.) would be an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Work with customers to develop solutions addressing their power-related needs and requirements.
• Assess customer needs and map them to existing products or propose modifications/new concepts for engineering development.
• Create models and technical presentations to propose concepts and solutions.
• Provide key engineering documents including drawings, specs, lab results, and analyses.
• Engage with thermal engineering and simulation teams and facilitate lab testing for design proposals.
• Build trusted advisor relationships with customer engineering teams and help drive design wins.
