Job summary

Amphenol Communications Solutions (ACS), a division of Amphenol Corporation, seeks a Staff Engineer to lead the development of power connector and cable assembly solutions. You will shape technical direction, drive cross-functional collaboration, and mentor engineering teams across global sites.

The role requires a strong mechanical/electro-mechanical design background, expertise in power connectors, sealing, and interfaces, with Creo, DFMEA, and DFMA experience. Occasional travel planned.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in engineering.
• 6+ years in mechanical design for electrical components.
• Creo CAD, GD&T, tolerance analysis.
• FEA experience with Ansys/Workbench.
• DFM and DFA experience for production launches.
• Strong cross-functional leadership.
• Excellent written and spoken English.
• Multiple project management with minimal supervision.
• Knowledge of UL, IEC, EIA standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead design reviews with cross-functional teams.
• Drive cost reduction through innovative design and manufacturing improvements.
• Mentor engineering talent and lead training programs.
• Design and validate power connectors, contact systems, and cables.
• Create 2D/3D CAD designs, DFMEA, and tolerance analyses.
• Support manufacturing, tooling, and quality teams for launches.
