Job summary

Samaritan's Purse is seeking a Senior Custom Systems Analyst to join our Information Technology team on-site in Boone, NC. You will bridge ideation and execution by partnering with subject matter experts, program managers, and developers to translate business requirements into scalable custom applications that support ministry priorities.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree with 10+ years of experience in business systems analysis, custom software development, enterprise applications, or related field.
Analytical and critical-thinking skills with ability to identify root causes, evaluate alternatives, and recommend practical, scalable solutions.
Strong knowledge of analysis practices: requirements elicitation, process mapping, gap analysis, user stories, functional/non-functional requirements, and BPI.
Thorough understanding of SDLC and Agile/Scrum with knowledge of custom software development, architecture, integrations, release management, and QA.
Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and facilitation skills across technical and non-technical audiences; mentor team members; leverage AI/tools to enhance productivity.
12 credit hours of Biblical Studies; option to complete upon hire.

Responsibilities

Turn business requirements into user stories and developable functional and non-functional requirements.
Document needs, processes, and workflows related to custom applications.
Prioritize analysis and development activities with ministry areas and program managers.
Lead brainstorming sessions and workshops to understand system needs.
Collaborate with SMEs, solution architects, UX experts, and program managers to design systems meeting ministry objectives.
Work with partner teams to build quality products and projects.
Provide technical training on developed solutions to ministry areas and training teams.
Support QA to ensure quality delivery of systems.
Communicate system and business requirements to developers during kickoff meetings.
Obtain necessary agreements and approvals for custom development projects.
