Job summary

Housing Works is seeking a Floating Senior Custodian to perform advanced custodial duties across multiple facilities in New York. The role focuses on deep cleaning, floor care, and sanitation projects to maintain a clean, safe environment.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of custodial experience, OSHA and Certificate of Fitness certifications, and strong communication with the ability to travel between sites. We offer comprehensive healthcare, PTO, and educational benefits.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of custodial experience, including deep cleaning and floor care.
• Excellent customer service skills and strong interpersonal abilities.
• Good communication skills, verbally and written, with all levels of management.
• Ability to work across multiple sites and maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Perform deep cleaning of floors, carpets, restrooms, kitchens, and high-touch surfaces.
• Strip, wax, and buff floors; shampoo carpets; clean upholstery as scheduled.
• Sanitize and disinfect common areas and high-traffic zones.
• Operate and maintain custodial equipment (floor scrubbers, extractors, pressure washers).
• Travel between locations as scheduled and maintain reliability.
