Job summary

Texas State Technical College (TSTC) is seeking a Senior Custodial Worker to maintain campus facilities, supervise staff, and coordinate cleaning operations. The role focuses on cleanliness, safety, and a welcoming environment for students and staff.

Hiring range is $17.57-$18.89 per hour in Texas. Final offer based on qualifications and experience. An equivalent combination of education, training and relevant professional experience will be considered.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Four years experience in the understanding/application of modern methods of building cleaning, equipment operation, and application of chemical solutions.
• Certificates in custodial related fields.
• Ability to follow instructions and complete tasks with minimal supervision.
• Valid Texas Driver's License and insurability under TSTC Liability Policy.

Responsibilities

• Lead and assist in supervising a team of custodial staff.
• Understanding of various cleaning methods, materials, and equipment used for maintaining cleanliness in different environments.
• Respond to emergency cleaning requests and special projects promptly.
• Enter occupied and unoccupied buildings with appropriate accompaniment.
• Check out tools, equipment, and supplies as needed.
• Operate state vehicles and equipment safely.
• Communicate effectively with faculty, staff, and students regarding custodial needs and services.
• Perform physically demanding tasks requiring strength and frequent moderate lifting (30-60 lbs), often in awkward positions.
• Follow all safety requirements, use protective equipment, and manage exposure to moderate hazards.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Job Description

The Senior Custodial Worker is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, sanitation, and overall appearance of campus facilities. This role assists the Custodial Manager in coordinating cleaning schedules and supervising the day to day operations of the Custodial Staff. The Senior Custodial Worker plays a critical role in creating a welcoming and hygienic environment for students, faculty, staff, and visitors.

Hiring Range is $17.57 - $18.89 USD Hourly.

The final salary offer will be determined based on the candidate's qualifications and experience.

An equivalent combination of education, training and relevant professional experience will be considered.

• Risk:Occasional exposure to minor hazards controlled by safety precautions.
