Job summary

The Claremont Colleges Services seeks a Lead Building Attendant to manage custodial staff, ensure clean and safe facilities, and support daily operations across TCCS sites. The role requires supervising others, performing inspections, and coordinating with the Custodial Supervisor.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 4–5 years supervisory experience, incl. 1 year custodial in an educational environment.
• Knowledge of janitorial techniques and safety.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions in English.
• Willingness to overtime work and be on-call; able to lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Maintain attractive, sanitary, and safe facilities for students, staff, and guests.
• Serve as lead for other Building Attendants; coordinate work and train staff.
• Conduct daily inspections of custodial areas and report needs.
• Analyze workflow with Custodial Supervisor; manage day-to-day operations.
• Assume supervisory duties during Custodial Supervisor’s absence.
• Prepare facilities for daily operations and security measures.
• Respond to safety concerns and incidents; ensure safe operations.
• Oversee event setups and distribution of supplies across buildings.
