Job summary

Monterey Peninsula College is seeking a Custodial Manager to plan, supervise and coordinate custodial operations, ensuring campus facilities are clean, safe and well-maintained. The role involves supervising staff, coordinating with administration, and overseeing budgets and safety compliance.

The position requires strong leadership, English and Spanish language abilities, and prior experience in a supervisory custodial role.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required with four or more years in custodial care; one year lead or supervisory experience preferred.
• Fluency in English and Spanish is desirable for interactions with diverse campus partners.
• Experience supervising staff and coordinating with contractors is highly valued.
• Knowledge of custodial methods, safety practices and Title 5 requirements is important.
• Experience with work order/ticketing systems and standard office software is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Plan, supervise and coordinate day-to-day custodial operations to maintain clean, safe college facilities.
• Plan, assign, schedule and evaluate custodial staff; train new personnel and conduct performance evaluations.
• Assist in custodial budget preparation and monitoring; prepare cost estimates for special events.
• Coordinate with administrators for instructional and meeting setups; manage large-scale cleaning projects.
• Inspect facilities for cleanliness, safety and repairs; oversee equipment maintenance and safety compliance.
• Demonstrate sensitivity to diverse campus communities and foster an inclusive work environment.
