Job summary

The University of Minnesota Arboretum is seeking a senior Building and Grounds Worker (B+G) to lead custodial teams and ensure daily, weekly, and long-term cleaning tasks meet University standards. You will collaborate with Reservations and Public Events units for space rentals and manage routine custodial operations and safety procedures.

Responsibilities include coordinating staff, carpeting and floor care, and supporting large events.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of custodial work with leadership experience.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds and climb 8-foot ladders.
• Valid MN Driver's License.
• Experience using standard custodial equipment and safe chemical dispensing.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate staff to complete daily, weekly, and long-term cleaning tasks across facilities.
• Perform carpet extraction and general floor care; operate custodial equipment safely.
• Support event setups and accommodate changing operational needs.
