Job summary

Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC) in Indianapolis, IN, seeks a Cultural Resources Senior Project Manager to lead projects across regulatory landscapes with SHPOs, Tribal Nations, and federal agencies.

You will guide staff, develop client relationships, and help grow the Practice nationwide. You’ll serve as a senior technical resource, provide quality reviews, and drive business development while collaborating with offices to deliver complex projects and ensure regulatory compliance

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Archaeology, Anthropology, History, Architectural History, Preservation Planning, or a related technical field.
  • Minimum 10 years of professional cultural resource experience.
  • Expert NHPA knowledge and federal NHPA protocols.
  • Strong local and national client networks with ability to develop/market.
  • Proven business-development and client management abilities to support growth.
  • Ability to lead complex projects, mentor staff, and provide technical/quality leadership.
  • Ability to manage multiple activities, teams, and client base.
  • Experience in scope/budget development and profitable project management.
  • Experience supporting strategic planning, staffing, and delivery.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication coordinating staff, clients, contractors, and regulators.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as senior technical resource, project manager, and quality reviewer within Cultural Resources Practice.
  • Lead business development and expand client relationships nationwide.
  • Mentor staff across experience levels and develop talent.
  • Collaborate with Indianapolis Office Practice Lead and leadership to advance the team.
  • Represent CEC as cultural resources expert and broaden practice visibility.
  • Manage projects profitably while coordinating with multiple offices and clients.
