Job summary

X is a remote-friendly, globally distributed platform that secures digital-asset custody and infrastructure for regulated assets. This role owns the cryptographic core, guiding MPC/TSS scheme choices, and driving from design through production and incident response.

You will work with a cross-functional team to implement, review, and publish on cryptographic primitives while mentoring engineers and shaping the team for future growth. English fluency is required.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of applied cryptography with at least 4 years in threshold signing, MPC, or related primitives shipped in production at a regulated entity.
• Hands-on with GG18, GG20, FROST, CGGMP21, DKLs23, or lattice-based threshold schemes; implementation experience.
• Production Rust or Go code handling real customer assets, not just research.
• Public technical artifact such as IACR ePrint, CRYPTO/REAL WORLD MPC talks, or open-source MPC library maintenance.
• Experience through a regulated-audit cycle as cryptography-side owner (SOC 2, NYDFS DFS Part 500, etc.).
• Ability to communicate cryptography clearly to engineers (one-page explainers).
• English fluency in writing and speech.

Responsibilities

• Own the cryptographic core of the custody platform, selecting and evolving MPC/TSS schemes in production.
• Author and shepherd scheme-review documents; participate in audits with external firms.
• Read and write Rust/Go cryptographic code; collaborate on signing-service performance and key rotation.
• Respond to advisories and update threat models when required.
• Represent the company at IACR venues and publish permissible work.
• Mentor IC engineers to grow cryptographic expertise within the team.
• Lead the growth plan to build a small cryptography team within 18–24 months.
