Job summary

CVR Energy seeks an experienced Senior Crude & Feedstocks Accountant to oversee energy trading and risk management accounting, general ledger, costing, and related close processes. You will partner with front/middle office, operations, FP&A, auditors, and vendors to ensure accurate financial reporting and strong controls across crude, feedstocks, and transportation activities.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• CPA not required, but preferred for license progression.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day general ledger, close, reconciliations, and reporting for refining and logistics.
• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close for crude oil and related activities.
• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and variance analytics.
• Build cross-functional relationships with front office, middle office, Commercial, operations, FP&A, auditors.
• Identify accounting matters and drive process or system improvements.
• Manage third-party relationships, billing support, and payment issue resolution.
• Ensure SOX 404 compliance and internal controls.
• Support audits with complete documentation.
• Assist corporate tax on applicable matters.
• Support process optimization across refining, marketing, and logistics.
• Maintain desktop procedures and continuity.
• Cross-train in other Petroleum Accounting areas.
• Communicate progress and risks to Sr. Manager.
• Support special projects and system initiatives.
