CVR Energy, Inc. is seeking an experienced Sr. Accountant for Crude & Feedstocks Accounting in Sugar Land, TX.

This role ensures timely recognition, ledger integrity, and detailed financial analysis across energy trading activities, with strong SOX compliance and cross-functional collaboration. The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's in Accounting or Finance, 4+ years of accounting experience (inventory experience preferred), and proficiency with Oracle Financials.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required or equivalent.
• CPA not required but preferred for licensure consideration.
• 4+ years in accounting, with preference for downstream energy experience.
• 2+ years of inventory accounting experience desired.
• GAAP, SOX, and internal controls knowledge required.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail; ability to communicate across teams.
• Experience with Oracle Financials desired.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day accounting for refining, marketing, and logistics activities.
• Lead month-, quarter-, and year-close processes for crude oil, feedstocks, and related purchasing.
• Prepare reconciliations, variance analyses, and financial statement analytics.
• Build cross-functional relationships with front/middle office, operations, FP&A, auditors, customers, and vendors.
• Identify technical accounting issues and propose process or system improvements.
• Oversee third-party relationships, billing support, and issue resolution.
