Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• CPA designation required.
• Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration preferred.
• 15+ years of progressive commodity accounting experience in energy.
• Minimum of 8 years of leadership experience managing accounting teams.
• Prior experience with a global physical and financial commodities trading organization strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead the commodity and derivatives accounting and reporting function for LNG, natural gas, crude oil and NGL trading and marketing activities (physical and financial).
• Oversee month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes related to commodity and derivatives accounting.
• Ensure accurate accounting treatment for physical and financial transactions.
• Read, interpret, and determine appropriate accounting treatment for complex contracts, including master trading agreements.
• Assess contracts for embedded derivatives and NPNS elections.
• Manage accounting for derivatives, mark-to-market, and hedge programs, including intercompany transactions.
• Review and approve reconciliations, journal entries, and financial analyses; partner with Marketing, Risk, Middle Office and Commercial teams.
• Maintain internal controls, accounting policies and procedures; support audits.
• Lead process improvement initiatives, system enhancements, and automation efforts.
• Develop, mentor, and manage a high-performing accounting team.
• Provide financial insights and reporting to senior leadership.
