Environmental Research Group, LLC (ERG) seeks a full-time Senior Project Archaeologist to lead cultural resource management projects for federal and state clients across the eastern, midwestern, and southeastern United States. The role blends project management, technical leadership, field direction, report preparation, and client coordination from kickoff through final deliverable.

Candidates based in NC/VA or within half-day drive of Charlotte preferred.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Anthropology, Archaeology, or a closely related field.
• Five+ years CRM experience including field leadership and client communication.
• Experience leading field crews and delivering project deliverables.
• Experience with Phase I survey, Phase II testing/evaluation, and monitoring.
• Knowledge of Section 106, NEPA, and state archaeology guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Lead archaeological projects from kickoff to final deliverable, managing scope, schedule, and budget.
• Direct Phase I surveys, Phase II testing/evaluation, and monitoring.
• Coordinate field mobilizations, logistics, safety, and data quality.
• Prepare and contribute to technical reports, analyses, and scopes of work.
• Review records, GIS data, and products for accuracy and compliance.
• Mentor junior staff and ensure consistent archaeological methods.
• Use GIS-enabled data collection, mapping, and reporting tools.
