Job summary

Prime Data Centers is seeking a Chief, Critical Facilities Engineer to lead and contribute as an individual and leader for electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety systems across standby diesel generators, UPSs, switchgear, cooling systems, and building automation. You will drive preventative maintenance, respond to emergencies, and collaborate with onsite operations and external engineering teams.

Qualifications

• Technical college degree or equivalent work experience in lieu of degree.
• Four or more years of data center experience or equivalent experience.
• CPR/First Aid and NFPA 70E Certification during employment.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the day-to-day operations and maintenance of mechanical and electrical equipment in a data center.
• Operate independently with limited direct management.
• Act as an escalation point for all facilities-related issues within the data center, escalating to the Critical Facility Manager as needed.
• Perform root cause analysis of equipment failures.
• Troubleshoot and report facility and dataserver-level events within internal SLA.
• Create and deploy new standard practices for Critical Operations Technicians, Chief Engineers, and vendor support teams.
• Provide training and guidance to Critical Operations Technicians
• Ensure all safety procedures are adhered to by vendor and PDC employees.
• Communicate complex technical information to a non-technical audience
