Responsibilities

• Provides respiratory care to patients, including aerosolized medication, oxygen therapy, and ventilation.
• Draws, analyzes, and reports blood gas results; responds to rapid responses and code blue; performs CPR as needed.
• Manages ventilators, both invasive and non-invasive, and documents changes.
• Performs respiratory therapy treatments per physician orders and department protocols.
• Participates in interdisciplinary rounds to impact length of stay and readmission rates.
• Assists with clinical instruction and serves as a resource for lower-level therapists.
