Job summary

Albany Med Health System is seeking a Clinical Nurse for the Critical Care Float Pool in Albany, NY. The role involves floating across Neuro-Surgical Trauma ICU, Medical ICU, Coronary Care Unit, Cardiovascular ICU, and progressive critical care units, with potential to gain competencies in ED and neuro-progressive care.

The position requires graduation from a nursing program, NYS RN licensure, BLS/ACLS, 1–3 years ICU/Progressive Care experience, and strong communication and organizational

Qualifications

• Graduate of a professional nursing program with Diploma, ADN, or BSN.
• Current NYS RN license.
• BLS and ACLS certifications.
• 1–3 years RN ICU/Progressive Care experience.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Implements physician orders, administers medications, starts IVs, performs treatments, procedures and tests, and documents treatment as required by policy and regulations.
• Orders, interprets, and evaluates diagnostic tests to identify and assess patients' conditions.
• Assesses and evaluates patient needs for, and responses to, care rendered.
• Applies sound nursing judgment in patient care management decisions.
• Provides primary and emergency care for occupational and non-occupational injuries and illnesses.
• Collaborates with the nursing team to create a Plan of Care for all patients.
• Directs and guides ancillary personnel and maintains standards of professional nursing.
