Job summary

UnitedHealth Group seeks a Senior Credit Underwriter to assess syndicated, commercial and leveraged loan requests, with remote work from anywhere in the U.S. The role includes travel up to 15% and an in-office requirement for Minneapolis or Washington, DC if applicable.

You will develop credit policies, perform due diligence, structure loans, and present decisions to committees. AI-enabled tools may be used to improve research and analysis while maintaining human judgment.

Qualifications

• 7+ years underwriting experience in syndicated and leveraged loan transactions.
• 7+ years analyzing financial statements for commercial and corporate loan transactions.
• Experience in a commercial credit or lending role with a commercial or investment bank.
• 7+ years of buy side and/or sell side syndicated credit experience with a commercial bank or investment bank.
• Experience evaluating transactions > $100 million.

Responsibilities

• Develop policies, procedures, templates and structures to establish a quality credit portfolio.
• Lead due diligence and underwriting of new loan opportunities and periodic reviews of existing loans.
• Present credit decisions to credit administration and credit committee with clear written and verbal communication.
• Assess and recommend risk ratings for underwritten loans.
• Create credit underwriting memos analyzing borrower, financials, repayment sources, risks and collateral.
• Maintain knowledge of bank policies, regulations and systems relevant to credit.
