Job summary

M.C. Dean, a leader in Building Intelligence, seeks a Credit & Risk Manager in Tysons, VA to establish enterprise credit, risk programs, and payment protections across federal and commercial projects. You will assess customer credit, monitor risk, and coordinate with Legal, Contracts, Operations, and Finance to mitigate exposure.

The role emphasizes proactive risk assessment and safeguarding company assets, with a focus on lien rights and secure payment practices throughout project lifecycles.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or related field.
• 8+ years of experience in commercial credit, construction finance, risk management, or related disciplines.
• Strong understanding of mechanic's liens, bond claims, financial statement analysis, and project risk evaluation.
• Experience with federal contracting and government projects preferred.
• Experience with surety/bonding programs and/or Subcontract Default Insurance (SDI) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Credit analysis of customers and project opportunities with risk ratings.
• Evaluate bonds, financing arrangements, and payment security for projects.
• Preserve lien rights and manage payment protections across lifecycle.
• Administer lien waivers and releases with proper documentation.
• Monitor project billing, risk indicators, and escalation actions.
• Provide AR support and dispute resolution to minimize risk exposure.
