Job summary

The AES Corporation is seeking a Senior Credit Risk Analyst in Houston to evaluate and manage credit risk across PPAs, EPC contracts, and trading activities. You will develop dashboards, assess exposures, and support risk-based decision-making.

You will work closely with Commercial, Treasury, Legal, and Trading teams to ensure disciplined risk management, robust reporting, and ongoing process improvements in collateral and credit policies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or other business-related fields.
• 3–5 years’ experience in energy credit risk.
• Strong financial statement analysis and credit underwriting skills.
• Experience evaluating PPAs, EPC contracts, and supply chain counterparties.
• Understanding of Potential Future Exposure (PFE) methodologies.
• Knowledge of collateral management processes and credit support agreements.
• Familiarity with Allegro ETRM systems.
• Experience developing Power BI dashboards and reports.
• Working knowledge of SQL/Power Query or similar data analytics tools.

Responsibilities

• Perform credit risk analysis of counterparties supporting PPAs, EPC contracts, supply chain vendors, and energy trading activities.
• Evaluate financial statements, establish credit limits, and recommend credit enhancements.
• Prepare credit memoranda and present recommendations to management and Credit Committee.
• Monitor ongoing financial condition of counterparties and identify emerging credit risks.
• Calculate and monitor PFE, credit limit utilization, and counterparty exposure for commodity trading.
• Forecast collateral requirements and manage collateral per contract terms.
• Develop and maintain credit risk dashboards and analytics using Power BI.
• Collaborate with teams to structure transactions and manage credit risk.
• Support continuous improvement of credit policies and data governance.
