Job summary

AES Corporation is seeking a Senior Credit Risk Analyst in Houston to evaluate and manage credit risk across PPAs, EPC contracts, and energy trading activities. You will assess counterparty exposure, monitor collateral, and develop reporting tools for informed decisions.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or related field.
3–5 years energy credit risk experience.
Strong financial statement analysis and underwriting skills.
Experience evaluating PPAs, EPC contracts, and supply chain counterparties.
Knowledge of PFE methodologies and collateral management.
Familiarity with Power BI and ETM systems such as Allegro.

Responsibilities

Perform credit risk analysis of counterparties supporting PPAs, EPC contracts, supply chain vendors, and energy trading activities.
Evaluate financial statements, establish credit limits, and recommend credit enhancements.
Prepare credit memoranda and present recommendations to management and Credit Committee.
Monitor ongoing financial condition of counterparties and identify emerging credit risks.
Develop, automate, and maintain credit risk dashboards and analytics using Power BI.
Analyze portfolio concentrations, exposure trends, and risk metrics to support decisions.
Collaborate with Commercial, Trading, Treasury, Legal, Supply Chain to structure transactions and manage risk.
Support improvements of credit policies, processes, reporting, and data governance.
