Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Analyze portfolio concentrations, exposure trends, and risk metrics to support decisions.
  • Collaborate with Commercial, Trading, Treasury, Legal, Supply Chain to structure transactions and manage risk.
  • Support improvements of credit policies, processes, reporting, and data governance.

The Risk Management team is seeking a Senior Credit Risk Analyst to join the group, reporting to the Senior Manager of Credit Risk. The Analyst will be responsible for evaluating and managing credit risk across the company's commercial activities, including long-term power purchase agreements (PPAs), engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contracts, supply chain counterparties, and energy trading activities. The role supports prudent risk management by performing financial and quantitative credit analysis, assessing counterparty exposure, monitoring collateral, and developing reporting and analytical tools that enable informed business decisions.

This position works closely with Commercial, Origination, Trading, Treasury, Legal, Supply Chain, and Project Development teams to ensure that credit risks are appropriately identified, quantified, monitored, and mitigated.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform credit risk analysis of counterparties supporting Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs), EPC contracts, supply chain vendors, and energy trading activities.
  • Evaluate financial statements, establish credit limits, and recommend appropriate credit enhancements, including guarantees, letters of credit, and other risk mitigation measures.
  • Prepare credit memoranda and present recommendations to management and Credit Committee.
  • Monitor the ongoing financial condition of counterparties and identify emerging credit risks.
  • Calculate and monitor Potential Future Exposure (PFE), credit limit utilization, and counterparty exposure for commodity trading activities.
  • Forecast collateral requirements and liquidity needs while administering collateral in accordance with contractual agreements.
  • Develop, automate, and maintain credit risk dashboards, reporting, and analytics using Power BI and other business intelligence tools.
  • Analyze portfolio concentrations, exposure trends, and key risk metrics to support informed business decisions.
  • Partner with Commercial, Trading, Treasury, Legal, Supply Chain, and Project Development teams to structure transactions and manage credit risk.
  • Support continuous improvement of credit policies, processes, reporting, and data governance while ensuring compliance with internal risk management standards.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or other business-related fields
  • At least 3-5 years' experience in energy credit risk
  • Strong financial statement analysis and credit underwriting skills
  • Experience evaluating long-term commercial agreements, including PPAs, EPC contracts, and supply chain counterparties.
  • Understanding of commodity trading exposure and Potential Future Exposure (PFE) methodologies.
  • Knowledge of collateral management processes and credit support agreements.
  • Familiarity with Energy Trading Risk Management (ETRM) systems such as Allegro.
  • Experience developing interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI.
  • Working knowledge of SQL, Power Query, or other data analytics tools is preferred.
  • Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving capabilities.
