Job summary

Plaid is seeking a Model Governance Lead, Credit, to own and execute Plaid’s credit model governance program. You will assess conceptual soundness, data inputs, features, performance, and the intended use of credit models, while partnering with Product, Data Science, and Engineering teams to drive robust validation and documentation.

You will identify weaknesses and drive remediation plans, ensuring models are well-documented and defensible for Plaid’s Credit products.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience building and owning a model governance program.
• Deep knowledge of models built for credit purposes.
• Strong understanding of machine learning modeling concepts and techniques, such as XGBoost.
• Familiarity with foundation models and neural networks.
• Experience with model validation and model risk management.
• Ability to challenge model owners and stakeholders with independent, detail-oriented analysis.

Responsibilities

• Own and execute the Model Governance program for Plaid’s Credit products.
• Assess conceptual soundness, data, features, performance, stability, and intended use of credit models.
• Identify weaknesses and translate them into clear remediation plans.
• Partner with Product, Data Science, and Engineering teams to strengthen development and validation practices.
• Create clear, rigorous documentation that helps customers understand and trust the models behind Plaid’s Credit products.
