Job summary

RPL International client seeks an experienced banking credit leader to run Credit Underwriting and mentor the team of underwriters and analysts. You will oversee complex decisions, ensure policy adherence, and partner with the Chief Credit Officer on risk management.

Responsibilities include evaluating borrower financials, managing portfolio risks, and presenting to senior committees. Strong CRE and C&I lending experience, including construction lending, is essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• Significant experience leading commercial banking underwriting or risk teams.
• Strong CRE and C&I lending experience; construction lending preferred.
• Proven ability to lead senior credit committees and policy governance.
• Knowledge of credit policy, risk ratings, portfolio management and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of senior credit underwriters and analysts.
• Review and approve complex loans within delegated authority (new originations, renewals, modifications, annual reviews).
• Oversee underwriting across commercial real estate, C&I, construction, ABL, SBA and other lending areas.
• Evaluate borrower financials, cash flow, collateral, risk ratings and loan structure.
• Identify deteriorating credits, policy exceptions and concentration risks.
• Present complex credit transactions to senior lending/credit committees.
• Partner with the Chief Credit Officer on policy, regulatory requirements, portfolio monitoring and risk management.
• Support regulatory examinations, loan reviews, audits, and other external assessments.
• Provide guidance to relationship managers on credit structure and risk mitigation.
• Oversee construction lending including budgets, disbursements, collateral and compliance with terms.
• Foster a strong credit culture through coaching and consistent application of standards.
