Job summary

First Mid Bancshares, Inc. is hiring a Credit Analyst to perform in-depth credit analyses and financial statement reviews for commercial and agricultural loan relationships. You will prepare presentations and assess repayment capacity, collateral coverage, and risk, supporting loan officers and committees.

The role involves liaising with commercial clients, applying lending policies, and contributing to training and project work within the Credit Analysis team.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration or commensurate banking experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in commercial credit analysis or banking.
  • Formal advanced training in Microsoft Excel preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform credit analyses and financial statement reviews of complex loans, industries, and commercial and agricultural loan relationships.
  • Create professional credit presentations that summarize borrower’s financial condition and evaluate repayment capacity and collateral coverage.
  • Monitor loan requests and assign risk ratings based on lending policies and regulatory guidelines.
  • Research industry information from outside sources and provide analysis.
  • Meet with commercial customers to foster relationships and enhance understanding of credits.
  • Support other credit analysis tasks and participate in related projects.

Job description

At First Mid, base salary is one component of our Total Rewards program.Exact compensation is determined by factors such as (but not limited to) education, skills,internal equity,and experience.This position offers additional compensation in the form of discretionary short-term incentives (i.e. bonus, incentives, and/or commission). Responsible for conducting in-depth credit analyses for new and existing commercial and ag loan relationships. Conduct financial statement review for loan officers, as well as comprehensive statement spreading.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Perform credit analyses and financial statement reviews of complex loans, industries, and commercial and ag loan relationships.
  • Create professional credit presentations that summarize borrower’s complex financial condition and evaluate repayment capacity and collateral coverage. Make recommendations, tied to analysis, to loan officers and/or loan committee.
  • Monitor loan requests and assign risk ratings that are based on established writtenlending policies and regulatory guidelines.
  • Research industry specific information from outside sources and provide analysis.
  • Investigate all available sources of credit and financial information, including credit bureaus, Experian Business Credit, the Risk Management Association, industry trends and other companies.
  • Assist with training of less tenured analysts.
  • Review work of analysts and provide feedback.
  • Meet with commercial customers of the Bank on a scheduled basis in conjunction with the loan officers to foster relationships and enhance the Bank’s understanding of credits.
  • Support other segments of Credit Analysis as assigned, such as miscellaneous loan or credit related reporting, tracking, and monitoring.
  • Participate in credit-related projects and complete training associated with job function.
Qualifications
Education/Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration and/or commensurate banking experience in a lending or credit function.
  • 3+ years of experience in commercial credit analysis or banking industry.
  • Formal advanced training in Microsoft Excel preferred.
