Job summary

Fitch Group’s North American Corporates Group seeks a Director-level credit analyst for Retail & Consumer coverage in our New York, Chicago, or Toronto offices. The role requires strong analytical skills, collaboration, and the ability to present to rating committees.

Qualitative credentials weigh significantly. A CFA/CPA is preferred; 4+ years in relevant credit analysis, Excel/Word proficiency, and excellent communication are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree at minimum; MBA or advanced degree a plus.
• CFA/CPA preferred.
• 4+ years relevant experience in Retail & Consumer sectors.
• Capital markets and/or credit analysis experience a plus.
• Expertise in Excel and Word.
• Strong analytical, quantitative, and organizational skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform analysis of quantitative and qualitative factors influencing the credit quality of companies in the Retail & Consumer sectors.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive financial models.
• Conduct meetings with Retail & Consumer industry management teams.
• Present analysis of companies to internal credit rating committees.
• Involvement in communicating rating rationale to external audiences (institutional investors, sell-side analysts and media).
• Write timely and effective research on topical issues.
• Participate in the evaluation of other credits within Corporates.
• Represent Fitch in panel discussions and conferences arranged by industry associations and regulators.
• Mentor junior members of the Retail & Consumer sector; role may include managerial responsibilities.
