Job summary

Fitch Ratings is seeking a Director‑level Credit Analyst for US Corporates in New York, Chicago or Toronto, focusing on Middle Market/Private Debt Leveraged Finance. You will expand Fitch’s research portfolio and contribute to rating actions and industry analysis.

Ideal candidates have 5–10 years' relevant experience, strong Excel skills, and proven ability to lead projects and teams while communicating clearly with investors and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years of relevant experience.
• Bachelor’s degree.
• Expertise in Microsoft Excel.
• Strong analytical, quantitative, and organizational skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to shift fluidly between multiple projects as priorities change.
• Ability to excel in a team‑oriented environment.
• Employee management experience a plus.
• CFA and/or MBA a plus.

Responsibilities

• Further build out Fitch’s existing suite of research on Middle Market/Private Debt topics targeting institutional investors, private equity sponsors, private debt funds, CLO managers and credit hedge funds.
• Perform data analysis of key quantitative and qualitative factors influencing the Middle Market and credit profiles of borrowers to support new research.
• Manage junior staff on a project‑by‑project basis to grow the research portfolio efficiently.
• Communicate with investors and sell‑side counterparties to explain research findings, grow Fitch’s brand awareness and generate ideas for new research topics.
