Job summary

Fitch Ratings’ North American Corporates Group is seeking a Director to cover the Retail and Consumer sector, with potential placement in Chicago, New York, or Toronto. The role involves rigorous credit analysis, model building, and communicating rating rationale to internal and external stakeholders.

The candidate should bring 4+ years of relevant experience, strong Excel and analytical skills, and a track record in credit analysis or capital markets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree at minimum; MBA or advanced degree a plus.
• CFA/CPA preferred.
• 4+ years relevant experience, including some coverage or knowledge of Retail & Consumer sectors.
• Capital markets and/or credit analysis experience a plus.
• Employee management experience a plus.
• Strong analytical, quantitative, and organizational skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Analyze key quantitative and qualitative factors influencing credit quality in Retail & Consumer sectors.
• Develop and maintain financial models.
• Meet with Retail & Consumer industry management teams.
• Present analysis to internal credit rating committees.
• Communicate rating rationale to external audiences in meetings, conference calls, and reports.
• Write timely and effective research on topical issues.
• Participate in evaluating other credits within Corporates and related groups.
• Represent Fitch in panel discussions and conferences.
