Description

Summary of Position: Evaluate and determine the credit risks of commercial clients through detailed financial statement analysis, industry assessment, collateral valuation, and cash flow and repayment analyses. The focus will primarily be on Commercial & Industrial (C&I) loans, especially in sectors like healthcare and leasing & finance.

Responsibilities Include

• Perform extensive due diligence on commercial loan borrowers, analyzing financial statements, tax returns, industry data, appraisals, and third-party reports.
• Work with Relationship and Portfolio Managers to gather necessary documentation and information for underwriting loan requests.
• Draft detailed credit write-ups, assessing income, balance sheet, cash flow, and identifying risks and mitigants.
• Understand complex credit, transaction, and organizational structures.
• Present analysis during credit discussions or loan committee meetings.
• Participate in borrower and property site visits, establishing direct client relationships when needed.
• Conduct periodic credit reviews to assess covenant compliance and adherence to policies.

Requirements

• Minimum 10+ years’ experience in commercial credit at a bank, credit union, or lending institution.
• Formal credit training required.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel.
• Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting; Master’s preferred.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong ethics, communication skills, and proficiency in Abrigo preferred.
