Job summary

Sunday Capital, a Los Angeles-based private real estate lender, seeks an Underwriter to evaluate bridge loans from initial screening through closing. Build cash flow models, size and structure loans, and coordinate third-party diligence.

You will test stress scenarios, prepare memos, and support brokers, sponsors and capital markets while managing multiple deals with sound credit judgment.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of CRE underwriting with bridge lending or related debt experience.
• Elite Excel skills: build models from blank sheet with INDEX/MATCH, SUMIFS, data tables and scenario analysis.
• Strong command of LTV, LTC, debt yield, DSCR, interest reserves and extension tests.
• Ability to read rent rolls, appraisals and sponsor resumes to judge deal quality.
• Clear writing for credit memos read by committees in minutes.
• Ability to manage multiple deals with speed and accuracy.
• Bachelor's degree in finance, real estate, economics or related field.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite bridge loans end to end with cash flow models.
• Size and structure loans using LTV, LTC and DSCR analysis.
• Stress-test the sponsor's business plan and exit assumptions.
• Prepare credit memoranda with risks and mitigants.
• Diligence sponsors and markets: rent comps, submarket data, appraisals, reports.
• Screen fast to support originations with quick sizing and term sheets.
• Support capital markets with deal packages and data.
• Monitor the loan book, flag credit deterioration early.
