Job summary

U.S. Bank is seeking an experienced CRE Risk Advisory professional to partner with Commercial Real Estate leadership on risk management, controls and governance across the organization.

You will lead issue management, remediation and coordination of audits, while driving process improvement and risk-informed decision making. Strong communication with senior partners and a deep understanding of financial services regulations are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience
• 10+ years of applicable experience

Responsibilities

• Serve as a trusted risk advisor to CRE business partners on operational risk matters, controls, governance, and procedural requirements.
• Support issue identification, root cause analysis, remediation planning, and resolution of operational risk events.
• Partner with business leaders to evaluate risks associated with new initiatives, organizational changes, and business process enhancements.
• Lead and facilitate process improvement initiatives, including process mapping, control evaluation, and workflow optimization.
• Coordinate and support internal audits, regulatory examinations, and remediation activities.
• Assist with risk and control documentation, governance activities, and ongoing monitoring efforts.
• Support business continuity planning, third-party oversight, and operational resiliency initiatives.
• Assess downstream impacts of organizational and business changes and recommend appropriate risk mitigation strategies.
• Collaborate with stakeholders across risk, compliance, audit, legal, operations, and business functions to address complex issues.
• Monitor operational risk trends and emerging concerns and provide recommendations to strengthen business processes and controls.
• Communicate risk-related findings, recommendations, and project updates to business leadership and key stakeholders.
