Job summary

U.S. Bank is seeking a seasoned CRE Risk Advisor to partner with Commercial Real Estate leadership on operational risk, governance, and control improvements. You will lead issue remediation, support audits, and drive process improvements across lines of business.

This role requires 10+ years of relevant experience and a bachelor’s degree. Strong communication with senior leaders, and proficiency with MS Office and risk tools such as nCino or Archer are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
• 10+ years of applicable CRE risk/controls experience.
• Expert understanding of risk management and governance processes.

Responsibilities

• Advise Commercial Real Estate partners on operational risk, governance, and controls.
• Lead issue identification, root cause analysis, remediation planning, and resolution.
• Collaborate with leaders on risks of new initiatives and changes.
• Lead process mapping, control evaluation, and workflow optimization.
• Coordinate internal audits and regulatory examinations.
• Assist with risk documentation and ongoing governance activities.
• Support business continuity planning and third-party oversight.
• Assess impacts of organizational changes and recommend mitigations.
• Collaborate with risk, compliance, audit, legal, and operations teams to resolve issues.
• Monitor risk trends and provide recommendations to leadership.
