Job summary

Fifth Third Bank is seeking a Senior CRA Mortgage Loan Officer (Austin) to originate residential 1st mortgage loans, focus on CRA initiatives, and cross-sell products to low-to-moderate income communities. The role covers from application to closing with strong emphasis on risk management and customer experience.

Responsibilities include leading meetings, developing CRA prospects, maintaining regulatory knowledge, and mentoring new staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; four-year college degree preferred.
• Knowledge of conventional and government lending guidelines.
• Knowledge of residential mortgage processing, underwriting, and closing procedures.
• Knowledge of federal lending regulations governing real estate lending.
• Demonstrated organizational skills and strong written/verbal communication.
• Proven customer service and teamwork skills; basic sales techniques.

Responsibilities

• Lead internal and external Sales and Partnership meetings.
• Assist CRA MLO colleagues with general loan support and business development.
• Develop and maintain CRA prospects and referral contacts (realtors, builders, professionals).
• Maintain knowledge of bank policies, loan products, processing, underwriting and guidelines.
• Take applicant information, prepare 1003 forms, and manage loan pipeline through closing.
• Coordinate homebuyer seminars and communicate progress to applicants and referrals.
