Public Consulting Group is a leading public sector solutions firm specializing in Medicaid cost reporting, audits, and financial controls. We seek an experienced accountant to prepare complex cost reports, analyze variances, and support external audits in a remote setting.

The role requires CPA licensure, 7+ years of accounting experience, and supervisory capability. Strong communication and Excel skills are essential as you coordinate with clients across the public sector.

Qualifications

• Requires CPA license.
• Bachelor's in Accounting; Master's preferred.
• Experience with Medicare regulations.
• 7+ years in accounting; GAAP knowledge.
• Supervisory experience required.

Responsabilités

• Prepare, review, and finalize Medicaid cost reports and filings, ensuring compliance with regulations.
• Analyze revenues and expenditures to determine classification, allowability, and allocation for cost reporting.
• Research accounting guidance and program regulations to support reporting and audits.
• Reconcile general ledger accounts and investigate variances.
• Coordinate with clients to obtain supporting documentation and resolve discrepancies.
• Assist with external audits by preparing schedules, workpapers, and explanations.
• Document accounting conclusions and methodologies for audit readiness.
• Support process improvements related to cost reporting, reconciliations, controls, and procedures.
• Communicate with clients via meetings and email.
• Responsibilities may change as department grows; supervise a team of accountants.
