Job summary

Windward Risk Managers in Boca Raton, FL is seeking an experienced Assistant Controller (CPA Required) to lead accounting and financial reporting, including month-end close, budgeting, and cost allocation.

This role offers a hybrid schedule with four days in the office and one day remote after training, and provides mentorship to the accounting team while strengthening internal controls.

Qualifications

• CPA license is required for consideration.
• 5+ years in progressive accounting roles, preferably multi-entity.
• Experience with budgeting, cost analysis, and cost allocation.
• Experience leading month-end close and financial reporting.
• Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead month-end closing and prepare internal financial statements.
• Review journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations & reports.
• Collaborate with the Commissions team on reports & statements.
• Support Accounts Payable and Claims Billing as needed.
• Train and mentor junior staff within the accounting team.
• Assist with annual audit preparations and control improvements.
• Develop cost allocation methodologies & ensure accuracy.
• Partner with dept heads on budgeting & variance analysis.
