Job summary

Hanwha Q CELLS America Inc. in Irvine, CA, seeks a Senior Counterparty Risk Analyst to independently underwrite and monitor solar installers and related counterparties across the partner lifecycle.

This role analyzes financial strength, creditworthiness, compliance posture, and operational performance to support onboarding, credit decisions, and ongoing portfolio management. You will lead complex reviews and drive automation of underwriting and monitoring processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, Risk Management, or a related field.
• 6+ years of relevant experience in commercial underwriting, credit risk, counterparty risk, lending, or related risk management functions.
• 3+ years of hands-on commercial underwriting or counterparty risk experience.
• Direct experience in solar finance underwriting and evaluating installers/dealers.
• Ability to independently evaluate complex counterparties and make risk recommendations.
• Strong experience analyzing financial statements and credit reports.

Responsibilities

• Independently perform due diligence and underwriting of new and existing counterparties, primarily solar and electrical contractors and OEMs.
• Analyze financial statements, cash flow, bank statements, credit reports, and other data to assess creditworthiness.
• Recommend internal credit ratings, risk-based limits, or declines and prepare supporting analyses.
• Manage ongoing monitoring and re-evaluations of the counterparty portfolio.
• Lead complex reviews and partner with stakeholders to resolve escalated credit issues.
• Identify opportunities to automate underwriting and monitoring processes.
• Develop and enhance underwriting workflows, scorecards, and risk controls.
• Collaborate with Legal, Compliance, Operations, Onboarding, and Business Development.
